QFor the fourth of July we visited my grandparents at their beach house in Ocean City, MD. The weather was a balmy 90 degrees, but it never rained. For some reason every time I go to OC in the summertime it's monsoon season. R
Brian and headed out early on the fourth, and as you can see he was super enthusiastic about it...
We saw this gentleman on the way, he was feeling really patriotic. His flags range from the 1776 version with thirteen stars to "don't tread on me." It was kinda cool.
There was a threat of rain every day but it never came! The clouds were welcome though, it was so hot out there in the sand.
This is where we watched fireworks
Julianna and I on the beach on the fourth. It was the most crowded I've ever seen! There were at least twenty umbrellas between me and the ocean. We were closer the the parking lot than the Atlantic! We should have known when parking was FIFTY DOLLARS for the day. 5-0. And my grandpa paid it, because he's a sweetheart and we needed the "full Ocean City experience." Although we've been there at least seven hundred times in my life. But I digress, it was a fun day regardless of the crowds.
Juli and her friend Vanessa, waiting for fireworks. These two should have their own comedy special, they make the time fly.
The family before dinner at the Lobster Shanty, which I should add was no shanty. It was really nice. The exterior looks weathered and old, but the interior is gorgeous and well cared for. The owners created an "enchanted cottage in a Disney movie forest" theme which was very cool. Gnomes, toad stools, talking trees, it was magical. Diggin' Brian's outfit choice too ;)
It was a really great long weekend and the perfect break from the usual routine. Got a nice tan and some quality family time. I can't wait to go back!
