Hi, I'm Lauren and I'm a Craftaholic.

I love to DIY. Really DIM, because I'm doing myself, lets be serious. I've always liked to craft and make things from scratch when I feel inspired by store displays, (Ikea, I'm lookin at you)  magazines, websites and lately it's been PINTEREST. I am completely sucked in. It worked, the internet, you've won. I am a pinterest zombie and can scroll the endless rectangles of ideas for hours. And while the entire site feels, at times, like a huge waste of time, I've found some pretty awesome stuff. The BEST is when I get an idea then actually bring that idea into the realm of reality with my own hands and know-how...to see the end result of shopping, pinteresting, gathering, planning, trial and error, failing, starting over, failing again, cussing, sweating and then FINISHING the project is so damn satisfying, It's the best. So, naturally when I finish a project I really like, I post it to every social media platform available. And here's the really great part...people started to respond. I would see comments from friends and family asking me to show them how I had made something. Or to sell whatever it was. And it struck me, I was terrible at blogging once, but maybe I could use the blog as a way to show you all how I do, what I do. Where I shop, how I take inspiration from pinterest and apply it in real life, recipes, tutorials, videos; I could even post sometimes about hair and make-up if anyone will read or watch!

Be warned: pretty much everything I post makes a mess. I named the blog the Craftermath for a reason. You know the buzzfeed lists comparing your life on instagram vs. reality? Well dear reader all you've seen so far is the shiny, tidy and intentionally filtered versions of my home and projects. Here, I'm going to try and show you the reality of making things for yourself. It's work, but that is what makes it so special. You can see your hard work produce something you can treasure and it came from your brain. Love that. Plus, I'm gonna show you how to do it.

So anyways, stay tuned for some cool junk. First post will show you how I updated my white curtains by adding yarn tassels. Pretty excited about it.
